Some Christmas tips for leaders. At the end of the year, people sometimes relax a bit too much. If your team is sensible, you have nothing to worry about.

For any wild cards in your team, set behavioral expectations before they do something they will regret:

Tasks — Make it clear what must be done before your team go on holiday. Check if they need any help to get it done.

The office party and Secret Santa — Highlight the sort of behavior that is acceptable and what is not.

Christmas Shopping — Clarify whether extra time can be taken for Christmas shopping. If so, how much?

Christmas lunches — Are extended breaks acceptable?

Early finish — Is it OK to finish early the week leading up to Christmas? When can staff go home on Christmas Eve?

Good luck and have fun.
