I think you are right. As a 'senior' worker sixty years young (crikey, when did that happen) I have the luxury of choice because I have a certain level of financial stability I didn't have when younger. I can see that if you are wanting promotion at work or a payrise, quiet quitting may mean those benefits go to other people who are willing to give their all.
