This article is #18 in the Monday Morning Manager Series for new managers who’ve had minimal leadership training.

Effectively managing your calendar is a challenge at the best of times, especially if you have just moved into a new leadership role.

For the first time, you are now responsible for the work of others and your tasks. You have to make time for team meetings and one-to-one meetings and ensure your team’s productivity.

Working out how to fit everything into your day can be a struggle. If only there were an easy-to-use tool available.

“Nobody is great at managing their calendar 100% of the time, and we all get overwhelmed at times.”

Luckily there is. It’s called your calendar, comes free with the job, and is easy to use.

Wait what? Is that it?

If you use your calendar effectively, yes.

Looking at most people’s calendars, all you will see are meetings. Nothing else. But to use your calendar productively, you need to schedule other activities as well.

How to be more productive…
